Appointment of ABC Officer

Yesterday per KRS 241.1101(1), Russell County Judge/Executive Gary D. Robertson appointed H.M. Bottom to serve as the Alcoholic Beverage Control officer for Russell County. Mr. Bottom has diligently served the people of Russell County for many years. His experience and knowledge make him well-suited for this position. The administration of the ABC duties will be done from the County Judge/Executive's office by the staff, under the direction of Mr. Bottom. Judge Robertson has opted to appoint an ABC officer from within the current staff because it would be fiscally irresponsible to hire an additional staff member at this time. There is no way of knowing how much revenue will be generated from future alcohol sales. As we begin the process of setting up an ABC office we want to do everything in our power to keep from adding strain to an already tight budget. The next meeting of the Russell County Fiscal Court, will be Monday, February 8th at 6:00pm. In order to ensure that this process is completely open and transparent, we will use this open-to-the public meeting to address the ABC procedures that will be set in place for the administration of this office.
